This is entirely a delayed post from the year 2010. Been meaning to post it here in my wordpress but never really had the time. So yes here it is, few images and photos that i took during my low budget-backpacking trip back in July 2010 to small part of Indonesia, the East Java. Went there with three others with the mission of experiencing the rich culture that Yogjakarta often offers to the tourist and finally set foot at the famous Borobudur temple and Mt. Bromo.

Upon reaching Adisucipto International Aiport in Yogyakarta, everybody got excited to experience everything. The first thing that came to mind is to taste for Bakso ourselves as it was originated there. It was hard for everybody to really enjoy the meal as it does not taste the same like the one in Malaysia. But thats really what you are looking for as a traveller.

Next on our to-do-list is to drag ourselves 40 km up north of Yogyakarta to see for ourself the gigantic temple of Borobudur. The place is listed by UNESCO as world heritage site hence explained the clean environment. While some of the statue have been damaged by the nature, Borobudur still is a place to be by any mean.

Spent few days back in Yogyakarta, exploring the famous Malioboro street and its culture before finally heading all the way east towards the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. Running out of money, we decided to find fellow tourist that are going to the same area as we were and split the payment of renting a bigger van. For those who have experience Indonesian’s rural area way of driving, they will know that we have went through 14 hours of roller-coaster hell ride. Yes 14 hours. But is is all worth is when we finally reach the National Park. The mission was to reach the tip of Mt. Bromo , 7,641 ft high, higher than the highest peak of Peninsular Malaysia, Mt. Tahan. East Java is no doubt a must for those who seek challenge in their journey. Would love to go back there sometime in the future.
